Traité des Maladies des Yeux is Antoine Pierre Demours major work on the pathologies of the eye. He served as occulist for French kings Louis XVIII and Charles X, as well introducing the use of pupil dilating agents in ophthalmic surgery and being the first physician to successfully transplant an artificial pupil. Demours was the son of Pierre Demours who was a zoologist and occulist of some note, and whose work contributed to the volume.
