                    Diagram of the muscular layer of the stomach (figure 1), stomach, seen from without (figure 2), lower end of the rectum and the margin of the anus with right third of figure exhibiting the mucous membrane dissected from the submucous connective tissue, the veins, and the internal sphincter muscle-fibers (figure 3), and the structure of the male pelvis displayed by a transverse vertical section and seen from behind (figure 4).
